A 1146 mile cycle ride from Land's End to John o' Groats

Day 7 – Wormbridge to Clun

After saying goodbye to Amy and Lily we set off towards Abbey Dore. Not a bad day’s riding today – 57 miles of mainly rolling countryside. The Golden Valley would probably have been golden if the sun had been shining, but there was more heavy rain last night and we awoke to a grey, misty morning.

Lily made us some Lembas, elvish waybread, to give us sustenance on our long journey. It helped.

We were lucky though as apart from one thorough soaking the weather has been mainly overcast.

From Wormbridge we cycled to Eardisley, Staunton, Bucknell and then on to the Youth Hostel at Clun. The Hostel is a beautiful old mill, but sadly it has TV, so no ITV4 for The Tour de France.

Went out for a meal at The White Horse Inn at Clun. A ‘proper’ pub – good food, good local beer, good local people.
