James and Joe cycle LeJog

A 1146 mile cycle ride from Land's End to John o' Groats

The Longflap’s first outing

Today we packed our bags, attached them to our bikes and went out for a 20 mile test run.

No problems to report. Well, apart from my Zipped Roll rubbed on the front tyre. That was easily sorted out though.

Here’s my beautiful Lowsaddle Longflap in action for the first time.

Joe always laughs when I talk about my Longflap. Not sure why.

And here’s Joe’s Barley, looking quite lopsided. The youth of today.

By popular demand, here’s a size comparison of our bags.

Longflap  (15 litres capacity) on the left, Barley (9 litres capacity) on the right.

Longflap on top, Barley on bottom.

My saddlebag, fully loaded, weighs in at 4.8kg. While Joe’s at comes in considerably lighter at 2.6kg.

Who’s the daddy?
